About Me

I'm a Senior Graphic Designer / Art Director with over 15 years of experience driving brand development. I managed creative teams and oversaw project management and cross-functional collaboration, elevating brand consistency and generating new revenue streams through strategic design.

I have an instinct to lock in and block out all noise on a tight deadline. When the building is on fire (metaphorically speaking) is when I'm at my best. I have pulled together million dollar Investor pitch decks with less than a week's notice of the project due date. Marketing materials needed for events with a sharp deadline while ensuring other projects didn’t fall behind. I developed a reputation as a fixer and someone reliable.I'm able to switch styles on a dime from fun and whimsical to quality layout for data-driven marketing materials.

"Martin has been a cornerstone of this organization for over a decade. To say he has seen it all would be an understatement. He joined us in Marketing ten years ago and has navigated through six presidential transitions, multiple company rebrands, and the inevitable ebbs and flows of a growing business. Through every logo change, website overhaul, and financial cycle, Martin remained a steady, loyal, and proactive force."

MY WORK

Executive Program Pitch

THE BRIEF
Pitch to ISR Division Systems, LLC’s anchor client to launch a new program that would allow General Contractors to become authorized dealers.

THE CHALLENGE
Build a convincing presentation that would help the client’s executive team understand the vision, value, and opportunity of the program while addressing issues they had experienced with a similar program in the past.

THE OUTCOME
The presentation was developed in about a week and a half, with four people collaborating on content. My role was to bring the story, formatting, and visual direction together into one cohesive presentation. Because of the compressed timeline and the presentation’s reliance on visual storytelling, generative AI was used to help develop visual aids. Due to confidential information, this portfolio version has been heavily edited and includes sample slides only.

Contractor Sales Presentation

THE BRIEF
ISR Division Systems was launching a new program that enabled General Contractors to sell American Standard products through our partnership. We needed a clear, compelling way to introduce the program and communicate its value.

‍THE CHALLENGE
Contractor meetings often required a high-level overview and answers to key questions on the spot. We needed one flexible sales tool that could do both.

‍THE RESULTS
I designed a presentation for 1:1 meetings and small-group presentations. It was approved by contractors in the pilot program and became the core recruiting tool for the rollout.

Thought Leadership Campaign

THE BRIEF
ISR was pursuing a highly specialized market with a limited pool of qualified prospects. We needed to establish the founder as a credible voice in the space and create a stronger way to engage potential clients.

‍THE CHALLENGE
The product required expertise and credibility that couldn't easily be communicated through traditional marketing. The founder had the knowledge and experience—but needed a platform to share it.

‍THE RESULT
I developed a series of thought leadership papers designed to position the founder as an industry expert. I edited and structured the content, designed the publications, and developed the distribution strategy.

Branding

THE BRIEF
Build a brand from the ground up around Noir Star Emporium's original vision: dark, whimsical art and fashion with a distinctly gothic edge.

‍THE CHALLENGE
Create an identity that could balance gothic, Victorian, whimsical, and occult influences without becoming overly themed or limiting the brand's evolution.

‍THE RESULT
The identity evolved beyond its strictly gothic roots into something stranger, more playful, and more distinctive. The final mark provides a timeless foundation that scales across fashion, illustration, packaging, and physical products.

Marketing Materials

THE BRIEF:
Design marketing materials that represent the brand and the range of products it sells.

‍THE CHALLENGE
‍
Keep everything on-brand while blending original artwork with fashion photography — two very different visual languages that had to feel like one brand.

‍THE RESULT
A full set of ads, flyers, and cards that carry the brand's look consistently across digital and print, used for local distribution and promotion.

T-Shirt Line

THE BRIEF
‍
Early on, when the company was still in the "figuring it out" phase and we were testing different products, the shirts turned out to be constant movers. That made them a great way to get my artwork out into the world while also generating real sales for the brand.

‍THE CHALLENGE
‍
Designing artwork that actually works on a shirt — bold and captivating enough to catch someone's eye, usually within a limited color palette or all-white to keep printing simple and effective.

‍THE RESULTS
The shirts have become one of Noir Star's better sellers, with a growing base of repeat customers collecting them. I print them myself to keep costs down, which makes them one of the highest profit-margin items in the store — helping subsidize the slower-moving, higher-priced pieces.

Oracle Deck

THE BRIEF
Interest in oracle decks has been growing, and we saw an opportunity to create something that felt distinctly Noir Star. That gave us room to create something that felt custom and different, not another mass-produced deck.

‍THE CHALLENGE
‍
Coming up with a unique illustration for all 42 oracle cards, each one tied to its own definition. The whole set was inspired by the Adirondack forests here in upstate New York and the idea of a forest witch, so every piece had to feel like it belonged to that world.

‍THE RESULT
Produced a quality wooden box with laser-engraved imagery on the cover, sized to perfectly hold the 42-card deck and a small definition booklet. We ran a small batch first to test it out, and now we're gearing up for a Kickstarter to push toward higher production volume.
